This sign, which is located on Lincoln Road just south of Market Deeping, marks the boundary between the Peterborough City Council Unitary Authority Area and the county of Lincolnshire. Peterborough was granted unitary authority status in 1998 and is now autonomous of Cambridgeshire County Council although the city remains within the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire.
