Geograph - photograph every grid square

The park was built as part of the venue for the 2012 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, and was further developed over a number of years after the games.

Three significant buildings used during the games can be found in the park, including the Olympic stadium, Aquatics Centre, and Velodrome, as well as The ArcelorMittal Orbit sculpture.

The River Lea also runs through the site.

The River Lea (or Lee) originates at Marsh Farm Leagrave, Luton in the Chiltern Hills and flows generally southeast, east, and then south to London where it meets the River Thames. The river is 42 miles long.
