The pub on the left is the Red Lion, a grade II listed building (

Dominating the crossroads is the Victorian town hall with its clock tower, built in the 19th century on the site of the medieval church of St Peter. It houses the town council chamber and Museum, but is not a listed building, unusually for the centre of town.
The white building on the crossroads is 1 South Street, which is grade II listed (

Archive Link ) ).
On the extreme right is another grade II listed building, 1-5 West Street, also 18th Century Georgian.
