A new season is here
The first recorded game of cricket here was in 1817 when the ground was known as 'The Folly'. In 1880 the ground was bought by Lt. Col. John May, of the town's brewing family, who later built the pavilion. The ground subsequently became known as May's Bounty after he donated the ground to the cricket club playing there. These days it is the home of Basingstoke & North Hants Cricket Club.
Hampshire CCC first played a game here in 1906, however in recent years only sporadic fixtures are now included. The most recent county championship game to be played here was against Durham in the 2010 season.
