taken 11 years ago, near to Hadleigh, Essex, England
Hadleigh Park (previously known as "Hadleigh Country Park") is owned by Essex County Council. Extending to 152 hectares (387 acres) it is one of the largest country parks in Essex and comprises an intimate mix of woodland, pasture, hay meadow and marsh with old hedgerows and ponds.
From the information centre in Chapel Road the park runs steeply down a hillside, to grazing marsh, seawall and a narrow strip of saltmarsh alongside Benfleet Creek.

The Hadleigh Marshes are a flat area bordering the northern shore of the River Thames. The marshes lie between the Bagshot sand ridge, on which sits Hadleigh Castle, and the Thames Estuary.
