Manchester School of Art Grosvenor Building
This building was designed by GT Redmayne and built for the Manchester School of Art in 1880. LS Lowry was one of the school’s students and his teacher was Adolphe Valette who is commemorated by a blue plaque on the outside wall.

The School of Art became part of Manchester Polytechnic in 1978 and is now part of the Faculty of Art and Design at the Manchester Metropolitan University. The building is Grade II-listed by English Heritage (English Heritage ID:387973 LinkExternal link British Listed Buildings)
