Eastern entrance to Windsor Royal Shopping
Viewed from Thames Street. Windsor Royal Shopping is opposite Windsor Castle in the Victorian railway station, built in 1851 when the Great Western Railway reached Windsor. Many original features remain, such as the Jubilee arch seen here, cobbled stones and Queen Victoria’s Royal waiting room.
In 1997, the site was remodelled and enlarged. Inside are 40 shops, several restaurants, cafes and bars, and an art & craft market. A single-track terminus railway station, Windsor & Eton Central, is also inside.
