In John's greengrocer's shop, Clemens Street
Clemens Street, Leamington
Clemens Street, laid out in 1808, was the first of the 'modern' streets of Leamington although it took some years to complete. It was the work of John Webb, a Birmingham builder. The canal was conveniently close for the transport of materials to the site. Brick kilns were established in Court Street and Grove Place. The west side of the street was built up before the east. Originally houses, they are now all business premises.
