Bermondsey Connect2 bridge

Opened in January 2013, this new shared use (cycle and pedestrian) bridge provides access to South Bermondsey station for residents of a large housing estate on the other side of Rotherhithe New Road, giving a quicker and more pleasant route to the station. It was funded by the walking and cycling charity Sustrans as part of their "Connect2" programme that sponsored short lengths of path linking to the National Cycle Network. The bridge replaced a former disused railway bridge, see TQ3478 : Bridge Over Rotherhithe New Road.
