Towards Long Compton Woods
Towards Long Compton Woods
We're actually descending this track; I have turned round to take the photo of where we have come from. This is a gradual descent on a good track through the woods, although slippery after the wet weather. It is used by both the Macmillan Way and Shakespeare's Way long distance paths. I have walked the former and am now walking the latter, so I'm repeating this bit.
Shakespeare's Way

Shakespeare's Way is a 146 mile long distance footpath from Shakespeare's birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon to the Globe theatre in London. It follows as nearly as possible a route that Shakespeare may have taken between the two, but using footpaths, quiet lanes and towpaths, rather than his tracks, which are today's main roads.
