The Temple, from the south
Also known as Black Dick’s Tower. A summer house, or belvedere, with a cellar. Grade 2 listed, built from ashlar stone in 1752-4 as part of the estate of (the now demolished) Whitley Hall. Despite the nick-name, not built for Whitley Hall's Sir Richard Beaumont [1574 – 1631].
