A freshwater spring at the foot of the limestone cliffs has carved a sinuous channel in the exposed sand and mud of Morecambe Bay. The evening sun is reflecting off a channel of the River Kent which has branched off the main flow coming out of the estuary to the north and currently hugs the Silverdale shore.
