The ferry has made the last trip of the day and is tied up to its mooring. The ferryman will then use the inflatable to get back to shore.
There has been a ferry across the River Great Ouse since the 13th-century and there have been times when it could have ferried people into town, such have been the floods. It has gone through various ownerships, the latest being Kingston Marine Services.
Trips are every 20 mins and the current fare is 70p. Boarding is at the Ferry Station, West Lynn and Ferry Lane, King's Lynn
