Westminster Bridge

Westminster Bridge was opened in 1750, but fell into disrepair and was replaced by the present bridge in 1862. With an overall length of 252 metres and a 26 metre width, it is a seven-arch wrought iron bridge which has Gothic detailing by Charles Barry (the architect of the Palace of Westminster). It is the oldest bridge in central London. It is Grade II* listed.LinkExternal link

River Thames

The River Thames rises at Thames Head in Gloucestershire on the slopes of the Cotswolds and flows generally eastward to its mouth near Southend in Essex. At 215 miles long it is one of the longest rivers in Britain, and the longest entirely within England. It is one of the most important rivers in Britain. LinkExternal link
