St Peter's Church, Boughton Monchelsea from the churchyard
St Peter's Church, Boughton Monchelsea has one of the most attractive churchyards I have ever seen, and certainly it has more roses than I have ever encountered in a churchyard. There are fine views over the deer park of Boughton Monchelsea Place, and beyond, and seats in the churchyard to admire the views. This was a beautiful warm afternoon during a rather soggy summer. It is a peaceful spot, well away from the village with just Boughton Monchelsea Place nearby. The church was badly damaged by fire in 1832 and largely restored and rebuilt after that. This view is from the lower, wilder part of the churchyard up towards the church.
