In a change from a cat catching a mouse or rat, here we have a dog, perhaps a greyhound from its litheness, catching an unfortunate rabbit by its hind quarters.
St Botolph's - Carvings

The choir stalls and misericords at St Botolph's parish church, Boston date from the late C14th making them over 600 years old. They are situated on either side of the chancel just after the arch that separates it from the nave.
They depict many strange, wonderful and often humorous beasts and actions. Some are obvious, some far less so, and some of the scenes are obviously allegorical or cautionary. Most of all they are a testament to the ability of those mediaeval carvers who embellished the furnishings of the church with such skill and artistry.
