NZ7818 : Staithes CampLooking at the picture of Staithes Camp brought back happy memories of a school holiday I spent there in 1954 with a school from Widnes, I used to wonder if the camp had previously been used as accommodation for servicemen with the washing facilities being outside of the huts, a row of sinks with a small cover over the top and COLD water as I recall, inside the hut was a dormitory with bunk beds and a corner just inside the door a section was partitioned off for the teacher. We used to trek down the the road alongside the harbour and around by "The Cod and Lobster" spotting Mr Barrow our science teacher through the window having a pint in the evening, happy days.
