Quarry House
Gayles Quarry, off to the right of this photo, appears to have been disused for a very long time, but the house retains the name Quarry House. The tiny road up to it soon leads to the edge of the Feldom Ranges, to which access is prohibited by byelaws when the range is in use, so there must be very little traffic up and down here. A footpath leading back to Gayles leads off the road on the right hand side just a short way beyond the house, though the stile and sign are set back in the hedge making them difficult to see until you are right opposite them.
