Levee of River Ouse near Goole Mill
Levee of River Ouse near Goole Mill
Much of the land adjacent to the R. Ouse is very low lying and levees have been built to protect it from flooding. Over time the bank has been raised here on a number of occasions, most recently in 2010; a lengthy and expensive operation. The sail-less mill is the disused Goole Mill and the area and buildings about is known locally as 'The Barracks'.
