A moth - Yellow Shell (Camptogramma bilineata)
While I was walking along the road from Dunipace to Plean (NS8185 : Plean Road), this moth settled briefly on the tarmac, and I had the opportunity to take a photo before it flew away.
The colouring and patterning of the wings is quite variable in this species, and darker forms are often encountered.
