	The Old Great North Road leading down into Stamford by Marathon This was the Great North Road before the A1 by-passed Stamford. The traffic through Stamford must have been horrendous in view of its narrow streets. On the right is the wall of Burghley House and the original width of the road can be clearly seen.
	Burghley Park Golf Club by Ken Brockway The Hereward Way footpath leaves the Old Great North Road and follows Ermine Way (Roman Road) along the drive to the golf club.
