	Footpath over Wessenden Moor by michael ely This stile leads onto the moor from the small parking area on the A635. The path used to be the official line of the Pennine Way in the early days where it follows the county boundary northwest towards Black Moss Reservoir.

	Moorland cairn by Andrew Hill The cairn is a useful landmark as the path between the A635 and the plateau of Black Hill is not very clear. It seems to be a bumper year for cotton grass.
	Wessenden Head Moor by Roger May Desolate peatbog Moorland, crossed only by the A635 Holmfirth road, die-hard walkers and a few rugged moorland sheep. A small gravel car-park awaits the motorised visitor.
