Cauld Pool
On the OS Map this is marked as "Clure Pool". Googled both without much enlightenment --- several places on the Tweed referred to Cauld Pool. I assume from the information such "pools" are good for fishing.

'dumb dumpers' notice
An attempt to discourage litter at a lay-by the edge of the disused Pirn Quarry, although it was pretty clean when Richard Webb was there in 2011 NT3437 : Pirn Quarry, and not much in evidence now.

Old meander on the Tweed near Innerleithen
Named 'Putts Pool' on the old 6" OS maps, this might have been bypassed in order to increase the flow to the Walkerburn mill lade intake downstream from here. The viewpoint is on Pirn Craig.

You can see the old course of the River Tweed the river was diverted to help with the power systems in the Textile Mills of Innerleithen and Walkerburn, the lake appears after flooding or snow melt
