Thomas Carothers

THOMAS CAROTHERS is Harvey V. Fineberg Chair for Democracy Studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where he directs the Democracy, Conflict, and Governance Program. He has been a visiting faculty member at the Central European University, Oxford, and Johns Hopkins University. An expert on democratization, human rights, and civil society, he is the author of Democracies Divided: The Global Challenge of Political Polarization.
