      Trixie Lyal stumbles upon the scoop of a lifetime when her move to a new town takes a detour into the paranormal world of Apple Hollow.  She winds up at the local diner where she meets a handsome local by the name of Orion.  Cupid stings her heart but not the headlines as strange happenings stir her curiosity. A quick investigation leads to a long road where she becomes her own headline, and a werewolf.  Mob-rule forces her to join the ranks of the town’s residents and her babysitter turns out to be her own handsome Orion.  Unfortunately for him, she has plans to escape her scoop and fly the coop.  To do that, though, she’ll have to survive the coming wild days of were-people, and her own insatiable lust for a certain devilishly handsome wolf.

Now they’re stuck babysitting as their search for the truth leads them from one end of the hollow to the other.  Witches, wizards, and a few things in-between stumble into their path as they try to stay one step ahead of a creeping fog that threatens them, and their new small charge.  The final problem?  They have only three nights to figure out the truth and then the ship disappears, along with their answers.  It’s a race to find solve the mystery before they become a part of it.

Trixie is reluctant to take on this new mission.  Something doesn’t feel right, and it isn’t the mold in the air giving her allergies.  She finds herself in the role of diplomat as the whole of the hollow begins to turn against Sage, Mab, and others following rumors of secret powers behind the peace in the valley.  A murder attempt and a successful murder lead them down a road of uncertain fate as they race against time, and Trixie’s better judgment, to a final finish that will decide more than just the life of the Tree, but her own reason for existing.
