Description

This week I am chatting about how I get started with a painting. It’s a fitting topic as I’ve just started a commission piece. The first commission in a long time.
My commission process in the early days was … well, let’s just say that it was less than ideal! So needless to say. I was feeling a bit nervous about diving back into custom work. But then I remembered all that I have learned. All the mistakes, sleepless nights, revelations, conversations. Every part of the journey that has brought me to where I am now.
I am not the same artist that I was years ago and neither are you! We are always evolving. So with new confidence, today I am sharing the steps I now take when I start a new painting or body of work.
Richie and I also talk about gathering inspiration from a variety of sources. Honestly, I just wanted an excuse to talk about how much I enjoyed the Taylor Swift, Miss Americana documentary!
