    Realism Roadmap - Joel Millanzi

    Introduction...

So, you want to learn how to draw... huh?

You are all hyped up and excited, but... you don’t know where to Start. ☹

About 2 years ago, I asked a question to a Facebook group who had  interest in art. The Question was simple,

What are your biggest struggles when it comes to drawing and  painting?

    The answers were shockingly surprising!

...Allot of people who were in the group claiming to be ‘artists’ had no  Idea even about what to do, to start.

To the matter of fact, many people did not know where to start in the  first place!

As you can see from the screenshot, that’s just a part of a second page,  from a 3 pages survey of 228 answers I collected, from two different  groups.

It’s plainly clear allot of people want guidance about how to draw.

To revalidate my findings, a few months ago I asked another simple  question to another group (Multiple times)

Who here would like guidance on starting to draw?

The answer yet again, 300+ people busted out with phrases like Me,  Yes pls, Count me in...etc.

    Mhhh...?

What does that show us? Again, people need guidance on starting out!

    Now that raises a question...

What exactly do you need to start drawing?

    What materials should I use?

Do I have to have talent to get started?

    How should I actually start?

Look, the list can go on and on,
