Chapter 1
––––––––
Rudrah and Vikram reclined on a mat beside a crackling campfire amid a chilly night, encircled by the silent guardianship of hills. The vast expanse of the sky stretched overhead, adorned with a myriad of stars, capturing Rudrah's wonder.
Look at those stars, Pappa,
he exclaimed. Do you see that constellation up there?
Vikram smiled in acknowledgment.
Do you know why it's called the Saptarishi Mandal in Snatan Dharm?
Rudrah inquired eagerly.
Not now, Rudrah,
Vikram interjected, his voice heavy with exhaustion. It's late already. Let me get some rest.
Undeterred, Rudrah glanced at him, gently touching his chest to convey understanding.
As Rudrah began to elaborate, Vikram turned away, presenting his back, yet it didn't deter Rudrah from imparting his knowledge.
"In our cosmology, the celestial sphere is not just a canvas of stars but a profound tapestry interwoven with history, symbolism, and spiritual significance. Among the many constellations that adorn the night sky, one holds a particularly sacred place in our tradition: Saptarishi, also known as the constellation of the Seven Sages.
Saptarishi, comprises seven prominent stars that ancient seers identified as representing seven revered sages or rishis. These sages are believed to be the mind-born sons of Lord Brahma, the creator deity in our History, tasked with guiding and upholding the cosmic order (dharma) through their wisdom, austerity, and divine knowledge.
The concept of the Saptarishi finds mention in various ancient scriptures, including the Rigveda, the oldest of the four Vedas, where they are extolled for their spiritual prowess and cosmic significance. According to Hindu History, the Saptarishi are responsible for maintaining the stability of the universe and serving as celestial guides for humanity on its spiritual journey.
These sages are revered for their contributions to various branches of knowledge, including philosophy, astrology, medicine, and Vedic rituals. Each sage is said to embody specific virtues and principles, representing different aspects of divine wisdom and cosmic harmony.
The Saptarishi constellation is also a potent symbol of unity, harmony, and spiritual enlightenment. Just as the Seven Sages work together to uphold the cosmic order, we strive to cultivate virtues such as wisdom, compassion, and righteousness in our own lives, following the timeless teachings embodied by the Saptarishi. Thus, the constellation of Saptarishi stands as a celestial testament to the enduring wisdom of ancient sages and the timeless principles they embody, inspiring generations to seek enlightenment and harmony with the cosmos"
Vikram was worried, not because his son at the age of eight, had so much wisdom, he was fearful of things to come.
Pappa, you know, as per our ancient scriptures, these Saptarishis are considered eternal beings who exist across all ages or yugas. They are believed to be manifestations of divine wisdom and cosmic harmony, serving as guides for humanity in every era. Their role is not limited to any particular age but extends across the entire cosmic cycle
What do you think, Pappa, where are these figures, are they seeing us all the time?
Vikram is snoring, Rudrah thought of waking him up but didn't. Instead, he continued his gaze at Saptarishi Mandal and slept.
The Maharishi possesses a serene countenance, etched with lines of age and experience, yet emanating a sense of timeless tranquillity. His complexion is weathered, bearing the marks of a life lived in harmony with nature and the divine. His skin, though tanned by the sun, seems to glow with an inner light, hinting at the depth of his spiritual insight.
Atop his head rests a crown of long, dark black hair, cascading in waves like the sacred Ganges river. His locks, left unbound, symbolize his freedom from worldly attachments and his unwavering devotion to spiritual truth. Among the strands of his hair are woven strands of rudraksha beads, each bead a symbol of his devotion to Lord Shiva and his connection to the cosmic energy that flows through all creation.
A majestic beard adorns his face, jet black like the wings of a raven, flowing down to his chest in a testament to his age and wisdom. His beard,
