Introduction to E-commerce

Definition and Evolution of E-commerce
E-commerce originated from electronic data interchange (EDI) – the digital exchange of documents between businesses – but now modern technologies for marketing, especially great computing power, automation servers, multimedia documents, web browsers, web servers, seeking agents, steep exponential adjustments in the value of communications, increases in computing power, powerful (and rigid) LANs and WANs, high-definition models of users and business partners, open network environment, etc. have contributed to great changes in e-commerce compared with EDI. Online shopping is done using these techniques and has exploded from previous levels.
