      Prologue: A glimpse into the micro world, where unseen killers thrive.

      Emma leaned closer to her microscope, eyes wide in amazement. A few days ago, she'd gotten a frantic call from Dr. Patel, her mentor, about an unusual illness that had struck down several patients in the local hospital. She'd been handed a vial of blood samples, each one a possible clue to what was causing the epidemic.

      Yeah, Emma murmured, adjusting the focus. It’s something… different.

      She zoomed in closer, the edges of the round slides swimming with swirling colors. A single microscopic organism came into focus, like a tiny amoeba but more dangerous. It pulsed gently in the dim light, oblivious to the disturbance it was causing to the outside world.
