      In the beginning:

      After leaving her house on January 11, 1803, Maria Megan, who was fifteen years old at the time, vanished without a trace. After she discovered the advertisement for a nanny that was published in the local newspaper, she informed her three-year-old daughter that she was going to speak with a man about the possibility of working as a nanny. After she failed to return home either that night or the following day, the hunt for Maria Megan was initiated. After a month had passed, her naked body was discovered in a vacant apartment.
