How the situation turned out with the entry of Prathap again and could Anirudh save his sister Thanuja form the trap of Prathap is the story of this spicy hot romantic thriller ‘Nail Polish’.
The Story starts from here:
At that time in their dining hall Malathi, her husband Chakradhar and their children Thanuja and Anirudh were taking their breakfast.
I know that you both don’t like much to come and stay in this village. I know that there will be no change in you both even after we made this much of facilities to you to go to your college and come back. But do you both know how much your dad struggled to get seats to you both in that engineering college, in the middle of the year?
Malathi said looking angrily into the faces of her daughter Thanuja and son Anirudh.
We did not ask you, especially I, to take that much trouble for comfortable settling in this village and to get seats in that engineering college. I don’t know how much of trouble dad took to get us both seats in that engineering college in the middle of the academic year but I know one thing very well! Dad did that all only to fulfill his long cherished dream to settle in this village like this.
It is not to fulfill my dream but to fulfill the promise I made to my dad.My dad asked me to look after our vast agriculture land bank carefully and keep this house intact. If I have not been selected for IAS and has to work in such big designations, I would never have preferred to leave this village and go somewhere else.
Chakradhar said.
Even then also you could have forgotten about your IAS and the ensuing good designation jobs and stayed in this village itself to keep your promise to your dad. If you have done like that, we would not have, especially I, troubled myself for the change from a metropolitan city into a village like this.
Thanuja’s face was still with full of irritation. Moreover this hundred years old house also would not have been this much uncomfortable if you did it like that.
We made this house also very much comfortable to live and you both have been given special rooms with all facilities.
Malathi also still angry. I just cannot understand, even two years young to you, your brother Anirudh has no problem with any of this and in fact he is enjoying. Why cannot you feel like him I just cannot understand!
Tell me bro, are you really enjoying all this?
looking into the face of her brother Anirudh seriously, Thanuja asked him.
I cannot say that I am enjoying here but I know one thing.
Anirudh was indeed putting an effort not to laugh at his sister’s predicament at that time. What cannot be escaped not just be endured but should be enjoyed.
You really never can enjoy here, I am sure of that.
Once again continuing consumption of her tiffin Thanuja said.
I just don’t why you are this much against this village!
with exasperation Malathi exclaimed. What is less here now? There is internet, a library and everything we want. What we don’t have here is; what we usually get in that concrete jungle, the heat, the traffic sounds.
Mom, this is the village where you born and grew up. So you can enjoy here in however way the situation here is. But it is not so to us.
Then tell me why you cannot enjoy here and what you don’t get which you get in that town? Then I agree I talked with bias.
Enough mom! I don’t want to talk anything more.
With a serious expression Thanuja said still consuming her food.
Anyhow I want to give the same suggestion which I am following now. What cannot be escaped.......
Shut your mouth. I don’t want any such type of bloody suggestions.
Thanuja exploded.
This time Anirudh could not remain without laughing making the anger in his sister even more.
Anyhow this is the first day to you both in that college and better you both go little early. Even you cannot enjoy the village, you may the college. It is indeed a big and costly college.
Chakradhar said.
After that without anymore discussion Thanuja and Anirudh finished their breakfast, cleaned their hands in the plates and went away from that place.
Did not we do a mistake by coming like this into this village?
Chakradhar asked his wife Malathi looking into her face. Sometimes I am feeling like that seeing the reaction in our daughter.
We would have done a big mistake if we did not come here to settle.
Malathi said. How do you forget about the promise you made to your father and on what condition you have been allowed to do IAS and the ensuing big jobs? He allowed you to become an IAS and to go away from this village on your promise that you do come here and settle in this house, in this village and take care of cultivation of your lands after your retirement. How do you forget about it?
You are right but.........
Chakradhar finished his breakfast long back, washed his hand in the plate but still preferred to sit in the same chair and talk with his wife. ............I cannot say I did this only to fulfill that promise. I always has a liking to this village and in fact I loved this house and this village and I have attachment with the both. I must say I am enjoying my staying here.
To be frank with you...........
Malathi washed her hand in the plate as if she remembered it only then even though she also finished her tiffin sometime back. ..........I cannot say I did not talk with some bias to this village. I always remember how we have behaved with each other! I really felt very much fear in those days that you would not marry me once you became IAS.
Malathi used to live in a small house in that village along with her mother as her father died when she was just ten years or so old. Her mother looked after the family with the small pension of her husband and by working in the other houses in that village. Even though Malathi was not educated much, she was beautiful and attractive and Chakradhar fell in love with her.
If we have not gone that much far in that..........
there was a sudden mischievous smile on his lips. ............I would have hesitated.
Malathi’s cheeks were blushed deep on hearing that. No, you would never have afforded to lose me. Did not I know the competition between you people in those days for me? You would have got more clever, more educated girl but..........
She did not want to praise herself
You are absolutely right Malathi.
Chakradhar nodded his head in agreement and leaned back in the chair. You were that much beautiful we just compete with each other to get you. I was that much lucky to have you so even before our marriage.
Shut up!
the crimson red in her cheeks has become even more and Malathi said as if to change that topic. Still we could not have children for a long time. I lost all my hope that I ever have children, then Thanuja borne and she gave way to Anirudh.
Chakradhar laughed heartily and his happiness was so clear in his laughter. How nice it would have been if our daughter inherited your nature? Why she behaves haughty and arrogant most of the times?
suddenly there was little irritation in his face.
She is just twenty two years aged kid, don’t forget that.
With a smile on her lips Malathi said. Her daughter’s being that much beautiful sometimes made Malathi happy and sometimes sad. She often thought that her haughty nature like that was mainly because of that reason but adjust herself thinking so.
Anirudh also is a kid, even younger to her, just twenty years aged. Why not he is behaving in such a way?
Chakradhar knitted his brows. Don’t support your daughter and try to change her.
I am already in that but she is not bending.
Malathi sighed heavily. Both our children are intelligent and clever but one of them has got little haughty nature. And........
suddenly there came some assurance in her voice. ...........most of the youth now a day are like that. Time certainly gets change in her and you don’t worry.
I hope so.
Chakradhar nodded his head. He suddenly got off from the chair he sat and said Anyhow after settling in it, we did not see this house fully even for once. Shall we put ourselves in that job now?
This is that much of a big house and we need to allot at the least one hour to see it fully.
Malathi also got off from her chair. Come, it shall be a best time-pass to both of us for the present.
Chakradhar ’s father Chidambara Rao was a landlord and rich person in that village and he constructed that big house also. Even it was so natural in those days to give birth at the least half a dozen children, ChidambaraRao ’s wife could not bear more than one son for him and that son was Chakradhar . ChidambaraRao so much wished and desired that his son to stay in the village and look after his lands but Chakradhar wanted to become IAS. His father could not deny his wish allowed him to become IAS and do the jobs with big designations on the condition that he would return to that village and settle there after his retirement taking care of the lands and the house. But after five years of Chakradhar’s marriage with Malathi, first his mother Sulochana and next his fatherChidambara Rao passed away. Chakradhar entrusted the responsibility of looking after the house and his lands to his friend Chalapathi in that village who was also one of the rich persons in that village with huge land bank.
This much of house was indeed not necessary. Why my father has constructed it this much big I still cannot understand!
Both of them started seeing room after room in that house, they finished right side upstairs portion, climbed the stairs and entered into the left side upstairs portion. While he was observing the one big room there, Malathi left him in that and went out. When Chakradhardid not get any response for what he said, he turned back and then only he found his wife was not in that room. Then he also came out of that room and when he entered into the next room he found his wife standing in the middle of it. Except for the closed cupboards, there was nothing in that room at that time and at what his wife was looking like that he could not understand!
What you are looking at Malathi?
Chakradhar went near to his wife and put his right hand around her shoulders.
Then she slowly turned her head and looked into his face. The fear and shock in her face at that time surprised Chakradhar.
Why you are like this? What happened?
with surprise in his face he asked her.
Don’t you....... Don’t you see her? She stands just here, before us.
There was shiver in the voice of Malathi.
I just cannot understand anything. Whom do you mean? Except walls and cupboards, I cannot see anything here.
With surprise and little irritation in his voice Chakradhar said.
\Mayuri.....she is here.
Turning her head once again towards the blank space Malathi said. She is there with an angry expression in her face. She is angry with me. She.......
Relax ....relax my dear.
Taking his wife into both of his hands Chakradhar said. You spent such time along with Mayuri in such a way and there is no surprise in your feeling like that. Just forget about it.
She is angry with me. She does not like my dragging you away from her. We both know very well how much she wanted you, live along with you.
Even while in the hands of Chakradhar also, there was the same measure of fear in her face and the shiver in her voice was just like that.
I agree with you but how do you forget that she died long time back? However much she wanted to become my wife, that does not matter after her death like that. And my declining to marry her also was for a very good reason and you too know about it.
Still looking into her face, Chakradhar said.
I know that she died a long time back but I am seeing her here now.
Malathi relieved herself from
