Abraham's Seed - Cheptoo Morei
Preface
As I reflect on the evolution of this book, from its inception in February 2023 to its current state in February 2024, I am struck by the profound shift in its essence. What began as a journey toward Christian maturity has blossomed into something far deeper — a quest for true rest in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
Imagine stepping into a realm where striving ceases, and peace reigns supreme. That's the essence of the journey I invite you to embark upon. It's about embracing the example of Christ Himself, who walked in perfect harmony with His Father's will, always about His Father's business.
This journey isn't about confusion or aimlessness; it's about finding clarity and purpose in every step. It's about trading fear for courage, lack for abundance, and weakness for strength. It's about entering into a place of divine provision and grace that knows no bounds.
I hope that as you journey through these pages, you'll experience a profound sense of rest in your mind and heart. May you be inspired to pursue Kingdom business with dedication, excellence, and love in every endeavor.
This book isn't just a collection of words; it's an invitation to engage with truth on a personal level. Through interactive devotional exercises, I invite you to journey alongside me, not merely seeing through my eyes, but seeking out the Rhema — the living word — that speaks directly to your soul.
As you pray, Give us this day our daily bread,
may these pages become a feast for your spirit, nourishing you with the bread of deliverance. And as you journey to the final page, may your heart overflow with the assurance of a powerful testimony, a testament to the transformative power of rest in the arms of our loving Father.
Without wax,
Cheptoo Morei.
Who was the man Abram?
Adam and Eve were expelled from the presence of God and sent out to fend for themselves. In the story of Abel and Cain, we observe that man always had a hunger for God and sought His face. By the time we got to Genesis 4:26, men began to call upon the Lord in one accord, as a community. God left a deposit in man, a compass that would always lead him back to his Maker; this is that which Jesus said that He had come to ‘seek that which was lost’ (Luke 19:10), and man no longer had to wander around to find a way because The Way had shown Himself forth.
Before the priests and prophets, men had to find their way to God. It is in this reality and dispensation that men came together, in one agreement and decided to work on the dream of building a city that would tower to heaven, and they would no longer be influenced by the dwellers of heaven, but be among the dwellers of heaven who influenced on earth-to make their name great, be a god- does that sound familiar? The Lord noticed their effort so much that He admitted that since they had all agreed to do it as one, nothing they set their mind to would be too hard, He made the executive decision to confound their language so that they could scatter on the face of the earth. It is a few generations after this happening that we met Terah, Abram’s father.
In Genesis 11:31 Terah took his son Abram, his wife Sarai, and his grandson Lot and left Ur of the Chaldees where they dwelt intending to go into the land of Canaan. The opening of Genesis 12 Now the Lord said
... suggests that it was He who had commanded Terah to leave and go into Canaan with his family. When they came to a town called Haran, Terah the patriarch of the family decided that they should settle there. It is in Haran, the city with the same name as his dead son, the city that offered him comfort and a place of remembrance, that Terah died. After his death, Abram became the new head of the family, so the Lord, who honours rank and office, spoke to Abram and told him to finish the pre-ordained journey to Canaan.
We know that Abram walked with the Lord all the days of his life and when he went to his grave, he left to his son the greatest inheritance; the Lord, the Fear of Isaac. From Isaac’s son, Jacob the Lord’s nation was chosen and established. Out of the tribe of Judah, Christ/the Messiah was born and by His sacrifice on the cross, man was made to reign with God once again. We who are saved by grace through faith are restored to our original position of having dominion here on earth, over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and the cattle, and all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26) The appropriation of this into our lives is through our patriarch Abraham, who obtained the promise from God by faith, we being his seed by faith are the children of promise. But the question
