    Day 1

General Bart was leading the 15th Infantry straight towards where we left the creatures affected with radiation. He seemed impetuous and brave. Perhaps one might mistake bravery for foolishness since facing mutant creatures is not exactly the brightest idea.

We were on a mission. An infantry of 50 men and women, the strongest and most fitting soldiers from the land of Albeja, were sent by Frank Bones, the most influential and richest man in the city.

Failing Frank Bones was definitely not an option. I could see it in his eyes when I first told him that one of the Copper Blocks he bought had gone missing in a lava river in the middle of the Nether.

Frank Bones looked at me in disbelief, but I could also sense some arrogance in the way he spoke to us. He was definitely not happy with the outcome, and I guess he’s not the kind of man who’s used to failure. When Frank Bones makes an order, he expects a fast turnaround and good results.

He was upset with our mistake, but he did not voice any anger or inflict any consequences onto us. Instead, Frank Bones sent his personal infantry to deal with the enemy. Honestly, I would have preferred if I could return to my beloved Heat Lake and stay there but that will have to wait. We need to retrieve the Copper block if we want to bring Frank Bone’s medical equipment to the Nether to find a cure for our dear friend, Zach.

So, now we have to guide General Bart and his warriors to where the monsters are and that’s exactly what we are doing. Paul, Nora, Tom and I had to return to the same spot where we accidentally dropped the Radioactive Copper and see what we could do to assist General Bart and the others.

We were getting very close to the area, and my heart started racing. I could actually hear my heart beating in my ears. Striders don’t sweat like humans do, but General Bart was an observant man. He knew I was getting nervous.

What’s wrong, Strider? You don’t look good. General Bart asked, as he marched ahead with his infantry following suit.

I uh, well…. I am not feeling well. I am a bit afraid, actually.

Afraid of what, if I may ask? General Bart wondered.

Well, isn’t it obvious? I told you before about the ferocious beasts… giant Magma Cubes, mutant Hoglins. We barely made it out alive and in one piece. If it wasn’t for Paul fighting the creatures, we’d be gone for good. I replied.

Hahahahaha! General Bart laughed out loud. Thank you for the hearty laugh, Strider. You guys sure know how to make me feel good.

    Uh… I don’t get it.

I apologize. I wasn’t trying to make fun of you or anything, but I do find the prospect of running away from a few Magma Cubes quite entertaining. I cannot wait to face those creatures myself and slay them one by one.

Wouldn’t it be better to take the Copper and get the heck away? Tom wondered.

How are we supposed to pick up the Copper if the wretched creatures don’t leave us alone? General Bart asked. If the Magma Cubes are as dangerous as you make them out to be, I suppose we will have no choice other than defeat them one by one. Don’t you agree, 15th infantry?

Yes, sir! They replied in unison.

See? My men and women are ready to fight. Who am I to deny them the opportunity to test their skills in some real combat? My soldiers are tired of practicing with wooden targets and dummies. It’s time we test them out in the field. Our bows are aching for some action, and our swords are sharp and ready for combat.

Well, suit yourself. As long as you guys get the job done, we don’t care. Tom replied.

This is not a ‘job’, dear Strider, General Bart replied. This is a mission, and a mission assigned is a mission completed. Under my command, this infantry has succeeded in all missions across the history of Albeja city. Frank Bones trusts me to get things done more than he trusts anyone else. I shall not let him down.

If that’s the case, and if you guys feel comfortable beating mutants, then I suppose we have brought the best fighters for this mission. I said.

I would not say the best, but maybe the only ones who could deal with this threat in the whole world. Who else could get this mission done? The poor fellows at the City of Garnish? The people of Dulltown? Or even the folks back at Veromir? No offense, by the way.

None taken. Paul replied. Our town does not boast of strong soldiers unlike Albeja.

Therefore, we are the only ones who can do this. Let us handle this problem and you may take the radioactive block back to Mr. Bones at once. General Bart said.

Wait, do we have to take the Copper back? Can’t you guys take the Copper by yourselves? I asked.

Hahahaha! Now that’s another great joke, Strider. Thanks as always for the great laugh. General Bart replied. Of course, we cannot take the Copper. We may be strong and brave, but we are not properly equipped to handle the radioactive material. We will help you retrieve it and then you can take it back to Frank Bones. He will be waiting for it.

    Right… Okay then. I replied.

I can’t believe we will have to go back to that place. Tom complained.

Cheer up! You will have the opportunity to visit our grand city once again. General Bart replied.

    Day 2

The 15th Infantry was more than prepared to face the enemy. General Bart was confident and completely certain of his victory over the radioactive creatures. He showed little to no concern about the battle.

How long is it going to take after all? We have been walking for days now! General Bart demanded to know about the location of the mutant creatures.

Calm down general, we are almost there. Tom replied. We’re almost near it.

It is over there! Paul pointed at the lava river, indicating the precise spot where he had built a small Netherrack barrage.

I cannot see anything. What happened in there? General Bart wondered.

Let’s go over there. We will show you where the Magma Cubes are holed up. I built them a trap, and they fell for it. The mutant Hoglins were much smarter and did not fall for it, though. Paul told him.

So you built a trap to keep the Magma Cubes in? Hahahahaha! The thought of knowing someone wasted so much energy to trap some Magma Cubes is too funny for me. General Bart laughed once more.

Yeah, you can laugh all you want, but I bet you won’t be laughing once you see the enemy. They are not regular Magma Cubes as we already told you before.

Yes, I am well aware that it’s radioactive Magma Cubes we are talking about. I get it. Still, what can a Magma Cube do other than jump around like a bunny? They are worthless.
