Embrace yourself
By
G.B. Bernhards
Without a name.
I want to sing
my life away
make you stay.
I want to feel
my soul fly
you wonder why.
I want to love,
You again
Without an end.
I want to know
if reality is sane
or in vain.
My life was
in a dream
didn’t see no aim
waited for the time.
I do too
Young boy, you are growing
Young boy, you are changing
Into a man.
Your brown eyes, curly hair
Makes me want to be there
You are changing into a man
Hope life will be fair.
I see you walking on the street
You’re a guy I like to meet
Your heart is pounding
You’re surrounded with friends and love.
She came from nowhere
Stood on the track
She was someone
To hunt you at last.
You gazed into her blue eyes’
Wanting to touch her hair
She looked cool to me
You liked her more.
You fear not to be able to
You fear not to have her to yourself.
So difficult to find.
You say I’m pretty
But you don’t hold my hand
You say you love me
But you don’t know why
You say it’s right
But you know it’s wrong
You say it’s interesting
But you don’t want to change.
Why did you have to be, so special
Why did you have to be, so kind
Why did you have to be, so gentle
Why did you have to be, so blind
Why did you have to be, so difficult to find.
Little creature don’t cry.
You are shy in your way
You move I hear myself say
What a face, what a grace,
To have you around.
Through your eyes may not realize
What I feel inside
And my words never give you a clue
I feel my love for you
