The vegan lifestyle has gained significant popularity in recent years, with many people embracing it as a way of living. But, what does it mean to be a vegan? In essence, vegans are individuals who choose to abstain from consuming or using any animal products or by-products. This includes meat, dairy, eggs, and leather, among many other things. The reasons for adopting a vegan lifestyle may vary from individual to individual, but commonly include ethical, environmental, and health concerns. In this post, we will delve deeper into what it means to be a vegan, the reasons why people choose to adopt this lifestyle, and the benefits and challenges that come with it.
1. What is a vegan?
A vegan is someone who chooses to live a lifestyle that avoids the use of animal products in their daily life. This includes a diet that excludes any form of animal meat, dairy, eggs, and honey, as well as products made from animals such as leather, wool, and silk.
