I met the Holy Spirit when I was eight. He has been with me all my life, in the good times and the bad. I strayed in my high school and college years, but I went back on my Damascus Road Experience. God told me to write three books, and I did.

    On the Glory Road

    with God and His Angels

    Mary Margaret Brown

    Kirkus Discoveries Review

A spirit-filled memoir and guide to living a God-centered life. Drawing on a multitude of personal experiences, Brown, founder of Standing in the Gap Ministries and a Lexington, Ky., radio host, presents her story of being called by God to be a prophet. Descriptions of numerous visions of heaven and conversations with God and his angels are interspersed with life events often trumatic and tragic including date rape, illness, car accidents, and deaths of close family members. In every case, Brown attributes the outcome to the power of prayer and in an unwavering faith in the goodness of God. For the author He works in a personal way, appearing and speaking to her in visions that include heavenly throne rooms attended by angels… She often presents the events of her life as mirroring biblical episodes…telling of an all-encompassing faith.

When Mary Margaret Brown was approximately nine years old, she lost her Grandmother Brown, to whom she was very close. Her grandmother had helped fuel Mary Margaret’s spirituality… Once her grandmother passed, she was left with a feeling of emptiness inside. She immersed herself in reading everything that she could get her hands on about the Lord.

As she was walking home from school one day, she had her first vision of the Lord. He appeared to be a spirit and was about 15 to 18 inches off the ground. It seemed that I could see through Him… What was so striking about Him were His blue eyes and His olive skin. They were pools of liquid love and compassion.

In this and subsequent meetings with the Lord, Mary Margaret learns that she is to be an instrumental part in communicating the word of God; in fact she claims that God specifically instructed her to write this book… He also tells her that she has seen more angels than anyone else in the world and encourages her to share her experiences.

Brown’s book is definitely interesting and attention grabbing. Her story is very unique and I have never read anything like it before… Mary Margaret Brown is a very spiritual person and besides this book she shares the Word of God as a minister and as the President of Standing in the Gap ministry. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read an autobiographical account of one woman’s spiritual journey and to those interested in the subject of angels and their purpose.

    Reader’s Comments – First Edition

I have been personally acquainted with Peggy (Mary Margaret Brown) for many years. I believe that Mary Margaret is the most spiritual person that I have ever met and has the greatest faith that I have ever encountered.

Robert F. Stephens, lawyer, Fayette Co. Judge, Former Chief Justice of the KY Supreme Court Secretary of the Justice Cabinet, Lexington, KY.

I highly recommend this book to all who would like to acquire a greater knowledge of angels and their operations, and to also learn the importance of faithful, obedient, patient, and persistent prayer through faith in God.

I am an ordained bishop in the Church of God with 62 years of pastoral and evangelistic ministry. I have never before met a person that has such great and miraculous visitations and encounters with angels. It is obvious the experiences and the persistent prayer through faith have brought Mary Margaret Brown to obey God and write this book. .I pray God’s blessings on this publication for the winning of many souls into the Kingdom of God.

Jeffery Simpson, Bishop of Kentucky, Frankfort, Ky. Church of God (Cleveland, TN)

We first met Mary Margaret Brown in 1987. She quickly became an important spiritual mentor to our family and has remained so for over 20 years. She is now known simply as Aunt Mary and has blessed us with her knowledge of scripture and unwavering enthusiasm for God, not to mention her infectious laughter. We have cherished her guidance during life’s trials and her ability to help transform our personal prayer lives into a joyous communion with our Lord and Saviour. She has ministered to our family and friends with compassion, humor and - always, always -powerful belief in prayer’s ability to bring us into God’s presence. We tell her often how much we love her (but we know she already knows). She is our angel.

The Bakers – Dr. Brad, Nancy & Worth Owensboro, KY

This book is a very intense autobiographical work by Mary Margaret about her walk with the Lord. The visions the Lord have given her has influenced her Christian walk remarkably. Since I have known Mary Margaret, her visitations of angels have been very instrumental in the progress of the church and many, many prayer groups. God bless her.

Marty Lowe, Business woman, Lancaster, KY

Mary Margaret’s book was very, very interesting. It was full of visions and prophecy and it enlarged my thinking to expect the miraculous and to look for God’s supernatural power in my everyday life. I recommend this book to everyone.

Rebekah Taylor, Vice President, First Southern National Bank, Lexington, KY

I could identify with the book in many ways, and the love Mary Margaret shows toward others. That is why I support her ministry.

I am grateful for Mary Margaret Brown’s relationship with Jesus Christ. She is blessed with the wonder of manifestations of God in the form of angels. I am thankful she has taken the time to record them m her book, On the Glory Road...

Marilyn Cunningham (Moses), Associate Principal, Morton Middle School, Now Principal of SCAPA (accelerated learning center) Lexington, KY

This book and Mary Margaret have blessed me in so many ways that I could not tell all. I conducted a jail service with a trainee and the Lord began to minister through me and when I had finished, 16 men came forward and made decisions for Christ.

Michael Reeves, Minister in training, Ghent, KY

A rare delight! This book is an inspirational reminder of the angels who minister to us sight unseen, but with vivid reality.

Sara Combs, Chief Judge, Kentucky Court of Appeals, Stanton, Kentucky

Mary Margaret Brown is a friend of many years, beginning with a prayer group in the early eighties. It was at one of these prayer sessions where she reported to us that she had just received a vision of Michael the Archangel. She has a real heart for people, and she endeavors to use her unique talents and perspective to help others.

    Sue Sharp, Writer, Lexington, Kentucky

Mary Margaret and I have known one another for more years than I can recall, but after I read her book On the Glory Road, I gained a whole new appreciation for you and your ministry. I find your expression of faith very interesting.

Ed Wright, Director of Christian Programming, WJMM and WCGW Radio Stations, Lexington, KY

Mary Margaret Brown is a wonderful woman of God and my best friend. She has visions and revelations from God that show that she is in tune with the heart of God. Like Enoch she walks and talks with God daily. I recommend this book to all who want to learn more about God and His angels.

Della Brown, Owner - Brown & Associates Real Estate Lexington, Kentucky

Aunt Mary was known by our children first so this gives one an idea of her appeal to folks of all ages and circumstances. Her subservience to God has rewarded her in particular with description and imagination of a true artist in this day and time. What a privilege it has been to be in her presence for she loves life and people unconditionally.

It is an open vision of Mary Margaret speaking to the Holy Spirit on the Montgomery County Road when she was eight years old. She accepted Christ as her lord and savior on that day.

    About the Author

Mary Margaret walks and talks to angels all the time, as she was called and ordained of the Lord to proclaim his word throughout the world. Jesus offered to baptize her when she was eight years old and continues to bless her in all she does. God asked her to tell her story as she has seen more angels than anyone on earth at that time, and she did in 2001. It was updated in 2008 and this is the third printing of her experiences.

    Introduction

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ! What a blessing it is for me to share with you the wonderful manifestations of God as I tell you about what He has revealed to me about angels in scripture and the exciting visions of what God had revealed to me.

Let me introduce myself and why I wrote this book about God and the glorious heavenly angels. My journey with the Lord began when I was eight years old on the backside of a mountain in Montgomery County, Kentucky, where I was seeking desperately to know the God of my grandmother and where she was. The previous December, I had lost my beautiful and vivacious grandmother. She is the person who talked to me and sang to me about Jesus. I wanted to know more about the God that she sang and talked about all the time. Those were precious times to me, and I missed my grandmother so much. I wanted to be with her more than anything.

I have never doubted that God existed, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. As a child, I sought him with all my young heart. My calling as a prophet came at an early age, but I forsook the calling for a life of pleasure for a time. Yet the Gifts of Discernment, Word of Knowledge, and Word of Wisdom that existed at the time continued to operate sporadically in my life and also his supernatural protection of me. God speaks to me directly face to face as he did the Apostle Paul. But when God first instructed me to write this book, I was a procrastinator and gave all sorts of excuses why I couldn’t do it. I delayed and delayed until I thought, I was in really hot water with God.

He made me feel very uncomfortable on the job, so I resigned to fulfill what I believed he had called me to do and to also assist with my ailing mother. I questioned God about whether I had the ability to write such a book.

I asked, God, who am I to write such a book?

He answered, You’re my child, and I have told you to write it. That should be all you need.

But He added, If you really need more, you have seen more angels than anyone on earth. Don’t you think you should tell what you have seen and heard?

He continued, You know there is an angel craze. People talk about angels all the time. Some even worship them. You know that angels are sent to minister to all believers, not to be worshipped. I want you to set the record straight.

But before I could locate all my notes and on visions and revelations, God gave me two illustrations from the Bible of people who have done mighty works for him but who appeared to me the most unlikely candidate for such a task. These examples strengthened my faith to proceed with God’s work to write the book.

    Chapter 1: God’s Examples

    Gideon

The angel of the Lord is spoken of in many places in the Bible. I was curious to know what it meant when I saw that a few scripture verses later, the angel was referred to as Lord.

Judges 6:1 states: And there came an angel of the Lord, and sat under an oak tree which was in Ophar, that pertained unto Joash the Abi-ezitite, and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

Verse 6:12 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him; and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valor.

Here we find an angel of the Lord predicting to Gideon what will come to pass in Gideon’s life. Gideon must have quaked in his shoes and thought, The Midianites will kill us all. How can I do what you called me to do? I’m a coward and expect to die at any minute. But instead of addressing Him as an angel, Gideon addressed him as Lord. (This is the way that I felt when God told me to write the book).

Verse 14 tells us who the angel of the Lord really was. He was the Lord (the Holy Spirit), and the Lord looked upon Gideon shaking before Him and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hands of the Midianites. Have not I sent thee?

That is the key, I sent thee.

The Lord was speaking. God had already sent a prophet in Verses 6:8-10, but the assurance did not come to Gideon.

He quaked and feared. In Verse 14, there is a clear distinction where we can know it was the Lord who spoke, Have not I sent thee?

If it were just an angel who spoke, he would say, The Lord says go.

In Verse 15, Gideon is still scared, and he tells the Lord that his family is poor, and he was the least in his father’s house.

It is apparent that we don’t have to be rich or distinguished to be of use to God. The least popular person may be the one God chooses to do great work for Him. We don’t have to be brave or bold, as He gives us His strength. In Verses 16, the Lord said unto Gideon, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shall smite the Midianites as one man.

In Verse 17, we understand that Gideon had found grace in God’s sight. Gideon had found much favor. God had selected him to lead an army. (Certainly, the task that Gideon had was much more stressful and dangerous than writing a book about angels, so I read the story in rapt awe of what God had done in Gideon). The story of Gideon always blesses me. It showed God’s grace and mercy to a shivering coward as God transformed him into a mighty leader. But Gideon still wanted a sign from the Lord that it was the Lord speaking. In Verse 20, we learned that Gideon was told to take the flesh, unleavened cakes, and lay them upon the rock, and pour out the broth; and he did so.

Verse 21: Then the angel of the Lord put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and there rose up fire out of the rock and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the Lord departed out of Gideon’s sight.

We see again that our God is a consuming fire.

And the Lord said, Peace be unto thee; fear not, thou shalt not die, and so Gideon built an altar to the Lord in that place and called it Jehovah – Shalom. To this day, it still stands. Jehovah means God, and Shalom means peace.

God had chosen the most unlikely of candidates to be His standard-bearer for war against the Midianites. Gideon was a poor man of lackluster character and reputation. His father was a Baal worshiper, but the Lord
