About this ebook
'My Heart & Her Pieces' is an exhibit of emotions that people experience in their lives:
grief, depression, sadness, anger, and self love. In this collection of poetry; Latham displays emotion is normal and it does exist in everyone. She analyzes her own heart and the remnants to pull this collection together. She expresses her trauma and own life to beam light onto emotions others try and hide. She is no stranger to these emotions and does not shy away from speaking upon them.

About the Author
All That Flows In
Selfless One
No matter what they say,
I’ll always know who I am.
I am the girl with every heavenly body on her back,
the one who waters withering flowers with her tears,
and the girl who loves more than the blood in her body.
I know I am.
Your Cheapest Thrill
We were in love
for what felt like forever,
but I loved you for even longer.
Ever since the day I met you,
my heart crawled into your lap and bled it’s love,
but I never knew quite why it did.
It could’ve been love
or temporary affection,
for your wandering eyes were always set on my body’s scarred complexion.
You used me and bruised me in a million ways.
From the first time we met, I was your ashtray.
Burning me with every touch.
The day you came back into my life
was the second greatest and worst day I ever had.
The greatest day was the one I met you.
On both days, I gained and lost two valuable things:
you and my will.
I loved you,
but were you in love with me?
It seems like I was only a cheap thrill to you…
Pain Imitating Life Lived
When I was around five years old,
you’d set me in the bathtub,
and we’d make bubble beards.
When I gave you trouble about taking a bath,
you’d show me a trick.
Of course, me being young and naïve,
I’d bathe, then beg for the trick you had up your sleeve.
You made it seem like water flowed from your fingertips.
Completely astonished,
I always tried to do it
but never could.
In place of taking those bubble baths,
I’d sit in the tub with the water foaming over me.
