Gracefully Broken!: My Journey with ALS
()
About this ebook
Lennis was so determined to bring the reader through each stage of her honest and emotional journey with ALS, that she completed most of this memoir with one finger due to the debilitating affects the disease had on her hands. This book also provides invaluable advice that stems not only from her experience as an ALS patient but also as a seasoned nurse. She named the book Gracefully Broken because the disease was unsuspected and seemed to progress gracefully over time. She gives all glory to God for gifting her with the determination and ability to complete this inspiring work.

To God Almighty, whom all my blessings flow. You never left me. You’ve Never forsaken me. You were there all the time. I learned that nothing just happens. For Your purpose; Thy will be done.

To My Family—Lenny deVere, my husband, my children, Mike and Tara, thank you for our lives together, for every experience we shared and the many efforts and trips that you all made to be there for me. Thank you for your foresight in doing what was needed, even when I was in denial. Tara, thanks for becoming a caregiver without a second thought as to what it would take. Your love and care were endless - love you.

To Union Baptist Church Family, Pastor Verlin Williams, the Choir, for your inspirational music and support, Drama Ministry, for your talent, spirit and for all the plays you allowed me to express through you.
To Hope Fellowship Christian Center Family, Apostle Kim R. Brewer, my godson Joshua, and congregation—for evolving, enlightening, and constantly praying with me and for me.
To the brand-new Hope Fellowship Christian Center South— My Pastor, Elder Lisa D. Nelson: we shared a short worship time together, but I know God will keep blessing and increasing.
However, as Lisa, you have been my best friend for over 21 years. We’ve laughed, cried, celebrated, mourned, and worshipped. Through it all, your love and support helped to make life a little lighter. From sun-up to sun-down, God was present with your anointing. You have been
