About the Author
Introduction
Almost everybody I’ve met during my lifetime has said or shown, through their actions, that they are not where they want to be in life and that they need some direction. Sure, they may have been successful in one or more areas of their life, but they are defeated in many other areas. I’ve been there myself, time and time again.
For example, they may be very successful financially, but their relationships with their children have suffered and still are suffering, at least to some extent. Or a second example, where they may have a close family with strong ties to each other, but they’re living in poverty. Which of those two basic examples is an example of abundance? Abundance, meaning a fulfilling life and not lacking in any area of it. Having not only enough for their own family, but extra, and thus able to help others as well. Neither of them are living a truly fulfilling life. Both are defeated, at least in part.
When I accepted the task of writing of this book, I was given several requirements that it must meet. At first, it seemed impossible to me. In fact, more than one person had stated that it was totally impossible to accomplish such a task, and that I was talking about three or more books, not just one. So I just applied ‘The Secret - The Source’s Wisdom’, and you can decide for yourself.
Imagine ‘you’ writing a book, and having to meet these requirements:
-It is to be written on a reading level that an elementary school child or an English Second Language (ESL) reader could understand. Just because it doesn’t have a lot of big words doesn’t mean that it isn’t intellectually challenging.
-The lessons are to be kept simple so that even a small child may understand it, yet deep enough in concept that the most successful CEO/President of a company or a powerful ruler of a country will still find it challenging to fulfill. And everyone will greatly benefit from the Secret, when correctly applied to their lives.
-It is to cross all boundaries: education, cultures, religions, lifestyles, beliefs, nationalities (i.e. Egyptian, Russian, Australian, etc.), ethnicities (i.e. Asian, Hispanic, Black, etc.), gender (male or female), etc.
-It’s to be based on Love, Truth, and Wisdom in their purest forms, without man’s religion having changed or twisted their meaning or intent.
-It must work as effectively for prisoners and slaves as well as it does for the financially wealthy, and of course everyone in between.
-Provide three levels of depth, so the reader can grow into the next level as they gain successes in their lives. Again, simple, but deep. I know it seems like that’s impossible, but you will see what I mean as we move through the book.
This is not a ‘Get Rich Quick’ book, though increasing one’s income is certainly included as a part of the content. It is intended to create balance, and to help to bring increase in every area of the reader’s life.
We’re living in a time in which technology is more advanced than it ever has been, and that technology was intended to free up our time, so we would be able to spend that ‘free time’ doing the things that we really enjoy. Life is supposed to be enjoyable, and, if it’s not, we’re doing something wrong.
Here is a list of few inventions that came out of that desire to create more time: washing machines for clothes and dishes, the hairdryer, the microwave oven, the automobile, the bicycle, the computer, etc. They have all saved us time, but they also enable us to create more tasks in the process. So more is expected of us, and we end up losing out on what we really want to be doing. The net result is life, as we know it, is controlling us. Not us being in control of our lives. Some call it ‘The tail wagging the dog.’ It’s not how life is supposed to be, but that is not what we are told by those around us, especially by those who have something to gain by us being under their control (i.e. a boss, a business/marriage partner, etc.).
We will discuss who we are as human beings, how most of us currently live, and how we were intended to live. Living how we were intended to live may be considered as ‘being true to ourselves’. That is not intended to be a selfish statement, but quite the opposite. We have abilities and resources available to us that we are not even aware of. Until you know ‘what’ you are, it is impossible to know ‘who’ you are, and seemingly more impossible to become ‘who you were meant to be’. When you hear about someone who has totally lived up to their potential, then you will get an idea of what we are talking about. Being the most that you can be, and more.
We live in a fallen world, people are hurting, and they are looking for answers.
Instead of living empowered lives, most of us live in some form of defeat, at least in one area of our life. That has got to change!
Let’s begin setting the ground work, to break the cycles of defeat, and to create a life of empowerment, fulfillment, and enjoyment. You, and those around you, deserve that!
Chapter 1
What is Our Value?
Our world financial system is built on greed. It says ‘if you don’t have a lot of money, you have little value to anyone. You are basically worthless.’ Fortunately, that is not true at all. Every person has value, no matter their current situation.
True Wealth is not based solely on income, though having a good income is a part of it. It also includes being healthy, having family and friends to spend quality time with, having a nice place to live, reliable transportation, doing work that one is very good at, and that we enjoy and appreciate almost everything that we have and do in life. We often disregard the last sentence and just think that we are supposed to sacrifice our enjoyment in life for the sake of being responsible.
This whole world or planet was given to humankind to enjoy, and that includes everything in it. Yes, it is for everyone!
Unfortunately, our world system of ‘greed’, has most of us thinking that it is only for the select few, and that the rest of us are not worthy of such good things.
There are plenty of resources on this planet to allow every family to have a nice house to live in, both land and materials. Everyone should have clean water to drink, a working toilet and shower, and a sink and stove with which to prepare food. Those should be just the basics that everyone has. Some people have those things, but certainly not everyone.
We are talking about teaching people how to improve their current situation, no matter how they were raised as a child, no matter what the standard of living is in their city or in their country, and no matter how bad their current situation is.
But I know people that have had what looks to be a really good life, lots of money, houses, cars, and yet they were totally miserable. In fact, some were so defeated that they had actually killed themselves, either intentionally or through drug, alcohol, and sex addictions. What they did in life either brought about huge regrets, or they could not see how they could do any better than what problems they were dealing with. They had no joy in anything; life lost all meaning for them. Then they transferred that seemingly hopeless situation against their own worth or value, because they saw their circumstances as who they were as a person. You cannot define ‘who you are’ by what you own, by what you do for a living, or what you have or don’t have. Besides, circumstances often lie, and they are always subject to change.
You are not your circumstances! You may have had a part in creating those circumstances or perhaps not. But no matter what, you can always change your circumstances or at least how you allow them to affect your life. You can find joy, even when everything around you says otherwise. More on that later.
We will demonstrate that there is hope in every situation, no matter how bad it seems at the time. All we need is some ‘insight’, and to stop following our ‘instincts’ and our ‘intuition’. They can get us in more trouble than we ‘think’. These are elements that come from ‘who’ and ‘what’ we are as human beings, and how we operate or function. We will go into all of that in great detail throughout this book.
While we are still on the topic of increasing in ‘true wealth’, let’s touch on the subject of ‘Wealth Without Regret.’
Wealth Without Regret
It’s not ‘what’ you have that matters, but it’s ‘how’ you got it that counts. Integrity is everything. Again, everything was put on the Earth for us to enjoy, but we cannot simply claim that and just take what we want. That is called stealing. Along with stealing comes regret, and possibly time in jail… or in some cases, even death. Stealing definitely cannot be considered as a part of ‘true wealth’ by any means. Stealing is a ‘natural’ action, and it is something that can easily be done without any special abilities or assistance, but it still has costs attached to it. Even if someone doesn’t get caught, it still violates laws that
