About this ebook
It is the culmination of the events of a persons spiritual enlightenment in hopes of bringing joy to the readers heart and soul. This uniquely designed poetry book is about love, faith, hope, and determination. The peaceful images will allow the reader to pause to see the still beauty of God. The soul is the essence of the heart of a person, the inner being of man or woman.
Whatever we possess in our heart, whether it is beauty or beast, will radiate from within our being to the world we see. Life is real, and it is better to find the good in the leftovers instead of complaining about the food you get. This book is about embracing life while holding on and not letting go.
Inspired by the life of the author as she strived to live beyond the challenges filled with disappointment, joy, despair, triumph, withdrawal, shame, and much more. She never lost hope or her desire to write, always knowing that there had to be something greater, better to life than what she had. She was blessed by God to put her feelings on paper and to share them with the world. Being a spontaneous writer, these writings are very unique and were written to bless your soul.
Que-t'ness
Bridget “Que-t’ness” Snipes, born Bridget La’chall Jackson, was born on February 18, 1962, in Dallas, Texas, to parents Addison “Sonny” Beecham Jr. and Diane Jackson. Six months later, her parents were married, Mr. and Mrs. Addison Beecham Jr., and so her surname changed. Bridget Beecham-Snipes is the eldest of four children: two brothers, Addison III and Victor, and one sister, Mary Beecham, now Gibson. At the tender age of four, she was diagnosed with sickle-cell disease, which is an African American hereditary disease. Bridget was not allowed to run and play the way the other children did. This disease caused her physical limitations. Though Bridget was limited to physical exercise, it did not limit her ability to accept her life for what it was. Bridget’s limitations did not stop her desire to be a writer. As a youth, she desired to write about her life of acceptance and denial of the challenges of growing up with physical limitations. “I have seen people run, skate, ride bicycles, and much more, but never me,” says Bridget. In 1979, her parents moved from Dallas to San Bernardino in Southern California because high humidity was not conducive to her health. Even at the age of seven, her dream was to write, and poetry was her forte. But it took her over thirty-five years to publish her first book, Poetry for the Soul, with more to come. Bridget’s long desire is to be a motivational speaker. She feels that we should embrace life no matter what the circumstances are as “there is life and death in the power of the tongue,” so “be slow to speak, slow to wrath, and quick to listen” (KJV). There would be no “e” in me without God Almighty! Don’t complain about the bad; celebrate the good in the leftovers. Hallelujah!

This book has been in the making for well over a decade, but because of my fears, it has taken longer than it should have. God instructed me to share my talents with the world. God said to me, What I have given you and what I brought you through was not for you—it was for you to share with those that I would have to hear for the body of Christ.
It is a big lack of faith not to do as God commands you to. Share your God-given talent(s) with others and grow from them—do not hide them. If every born-again believer would trust God, then the body of Christ would grow stronger every day. I understand oh so well that this is not an easy step for some of us; this is because I failed to submit totally to the authority of Jesus Christ when I accepted him as my Lord and Savior. I know if I failed to submit, others did too. We want the benefits of what Jesus has to offer without doing what is required to get them. If we would just try to do our part to build up the kingdom of God, we would not have time to worry about what our brothers and sisters in Christ are doing or have not done!
We should help each other by sharing our strengths and overcoming our weaknesses together as we grow in our life experiences. We should always call on Jesus to help us through our trials and tribulations, giving God all the glory. I feel we should help each other get rid of our old wineskins to get new wine. I was holding on to so much pain, mixed with guilt, grief, shame, anger, and hostility. That is too much for anyone to handle, and the list goes on. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I needed to allow God to carry my bags so that I could lose weight, being free of the extra baggage, but I only gave Him so much of them.
The Purpose (cont)
If we truly want God to change us and make us over, this is what we have to do.
One day, I was looking at the Word Network
or TBN, Trinity Broadcast Network. I listened to the speaker, Henry Hernandez, talk about having too much baggage, and he began to load his body down with bags as if he were going on a trip. The bags were labeled, emotional names such as doubt, stress, loneliness, depression, sadness, brokenhearted, and others … they either had handles or wheels. He began picking up bags, one or two; and as he continued to speak, he started imitating a person traveling through the airport with numerous bags of luggage hanging from their body—you know the type that is racing against time to get to where they are going. It represented the same type of baggage that we carry around every day. I remember him saying you must free yourself of your baggage by allowing God to free you.
For many years of my life, I only wrote or talked about what I was going to do. I grew tired of my words, and the paper notes gathered dust, the moths came to eat it, but it was too much for them to eat or carry away. What God gives and brings you through is not to hold on to but to share with others to bring more love, light, and encouragement to this dying world. As we learn the word of God and come to know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we then begin to trust the leading of is Holy Spirit. We were created for God because God wanted a family and to inhabit our praise.
The Purpose (cont)
When we exalt Jesus and edify the body of Christ, which should be our daily goal, this should encourage us to do better than the day before as we serve God.
I also desire that this book will inspire others to realize that it is not too late. Whatever God has called you to do, I believe you should ask God to teach you how to walk in the faith that he has given you. I know from experience how you hear all the speakers and see others making it, and they say you can do it. It is true—you can. It has taken me over fifteen years to release my first book; it should be in the publisher’s hands by the end of July 2010.
I wrote my first poem on September 3, 1994, if my memory serves me right, and within five days, I had written three poems. They just seem to pour out of me. My uncle Raymond was the first person I called to let him know of my poems and then the next and next. He then said, It is called spontaneity—you are a spontaneous writer.
Usually, if I fail to write with immediacy, I am unable to recall it the way it was; therefore, I try to keep paper and pen on hand
