    Conclusion

    Foreword

It was with pleasure that I accepted the request to write a Foreword for this book, The Giant Within Us. Firstly: Well done to Lady Anita Duckworth-Bradshaw for her initiative in creating the idea and asking some very brave women to share their stories.

This book will inspire many people who are currently experiencing challenge and hardship in their own lives. It will lift their spirits. It will cause them to sing within their soul, knowing that they are not alone in the challenges they are experiencing. It will help them to believe that they too can rise up from the difficulties facing them to have the life that they dream of.

I live by the motto, Dream It. Believe It. Achieve It. These brave and inspiring women totally embody that motto. Their very moving and honest accounts of their experiences are testimony their belief systems and mindset. I salute you all.

Everyone deserves to enjoy the life they dream of for themselves. Dream big dreams, and never give up on your dream. Believe that you can achieve your dream, and get on with making the often hard choices in your life, that will support you in achieving your dream.

    Introduction

A runner must run with dreams in his heart, not money in his pocket.

    ~ Emil Zatopek

I t all started when an associate approached me to be a part of a project she was already working on. She also gave me an opportunity to start my own anthology.

As an entrepreneur and wealth creator, I know when to act upon an idea and when to say no, and the proposition seemed good enough to pursue; so I took a chance on it.

What was most inspiring was the opportunity to work with other incredible individuals to make my idea a reality. I know the power of cooperative synergy and the difference it would make when the right individuals are involved in a journey such as this. Having this truth, the fear of not achieving my goal simply vanished and an inner strength took hold of me as I began to search for the right partners to support me to steer this massive ship to its destination.

I started to contact others who had already been down this road before now. I wondered whether we would pull it off in the stipulated time from project conception to the commissioning of the finished product. As a risk taker, I knew there would be no better time than the one I was given to work on this project.

This book has been written by the most beautiful and incredibly powerful women of our time. Each one of them had the strength to rise above every challenge they were faced with. Their stories will provoke you to take action in order to reach your desired destination. There’s only one place you can find true success and that is when world nurturers (women) decide to work together. These women reorganised The Giant within Us (every human being) can be woken up if only we try.

These women have walked the path of life’s challenges, but they remain determined never to give up on their resolute to do, have and become more. Today, we are privileged to read some of their stories.

Their stories will educate, inspire and motivate you to never give up on your dreams and goals no matter the road blocks and bumps on your way.

This book will move you to identify opportunities as they come your way. It will encourage you to break out of the smallness and become the giant within.

Change is constant and to do, have and become more; we must embrace it with open arms. Let’s not forget that there are two kinds of change (natural and through human influences). The natural changes (seasons and time) cannot be influenced by humans, but our decisions, behaviours and habits can be changed to reflect our deepest desires if we are receptive the endless possibilities that is around us.

Some changes could be negative, whilst most are positive. To bring change we must decide to travel on the journey of discovery. Part of positive change includes personal and professional development. However, the change we all seek lies within each one of us.

Each chapter of this book will indeed bring new hope and possibilities for you to never give up on yourself.

The Change we seek is within us.

    Chapter 1

Life Is Full Of Endless Possibilities

    By Anita Duckworth-Bradshaw

D iamonds and other precious stones are usually found in the rough. For them to become valuable, they must go through some tough processes.

Most humans are not interested in the processes of anything or any journey but the end product. What we fail to realize is the fact that learning, growing, transforming, purifying, healing and becoming more happens through processes.

Without taking the precious stones through the fire and the purifying processes, their value remains unknown. The endless possibilities in life lie in the process of our challenges.

Whilst most people would prefer the finished product or being carried to their destination (whereby they lose the essence of being in the now), some of us prefer to go through the process.

A wise man once said, Let life teach you.

This simply means that in every stage of our lives, whether smooth or rough, there are things to learn from each experience. It’s a well-known fact that an average mind would wish things were easy, whilst a great mind explores and assimilates the lessons of each stage of their journey.

In August 1986, at the tender age of seven, I left my family to live with one of my sisters in the city. The epic journey was not a holiday but the beginning of a long learning process and character building for me.

No wonder a wise man said, Do not be afraid to take risk, for where there’s risk comes reward.
