21134.pngSo there I was, on a rainy Friday morning, walking towards the huge brick school house with my eight year old brother Kyle. As we walked, the sound of the pitter patter and plop of raindrops below our feet resonated in my ears. My name is Kamilla and I’m eleven. My parents couldn’t decide between Kameron and Vanilla. So, they came up with Kamilla.
I walked Kyle to his class. I headed towards my sixth grade homeroom class. This is a new school for us. We’re still trying to get used to it. Even though it’s only our first week, it feels like we will never get used to it. As I walked, the ‘crew’ made weird faces and called me names. The ‘crew’ is a mean group of triplets, two girls and a boy. Their names are Izzy, Tom, and Mandy. They all have caramel colored hair.
Hey stinky breath,
said Izzy.
Hey ugly,
said Tom
Pimple face,
said Mandy.
I took out my iPod, plugged my earphones in, ignored them and kept walking. I didn’t have the courage to stand up to them. I thought to myself ‘someday, karma’s going to give them a taste of their own nasty medicine.’ I don’t even have pimples. I knew they were just looking for mean things to say, since this seems to be the only thing they know how to do. They are mean to just about everyone.
I got to my class a few seconds after the bell rang. As I walked in, the sight of a room filled with kids made me a little nervous. I quickly grabbed my seat, and sat down. Our teacher, Ms. Periwinkle was giving another long lecture of how we should behave. She continued with her lessons on math, English, and all the things teachers teach.
After class, I was by my locker when I saw the ‘crew’ coming my way. I buried my face in the locker and hoped they wouldn’t see me. I wasn’t in the mood for their taunts. After I was sure they were gone I started to walk away when a girl with straight blonde hair and a boy with red curly hair walked by me and waved. Were they waving at me? Did I know them? I tried to forget their strange gestures.
The day
