Dedication
black.jpgWith all honor, praise, and glory, I dedicate this writing first to our Father God, and my Lord Jesus the Christ. To my parent Henry and Doris Jennings, thank you for giving me birth and my foundational teachings that have proven invaluable throughout my life, and in remembrance, I love you still. To my spiritual father and mother, Apostle James Mills, and Pastor Vanessa Mills for recognizing what God had placed in me, and instructing me in the way I should go; I love you both.
I invite all of you that are struggling in darkness to come with me on my personal journey. No matter what your problem is, God is more than able to help you. He’s just waiting for you ask.
Introduction
black.jpgIn the perfect world, a child is supposed to grow-up happy, healthy and strong and ready to take on the world. There is to be a hedge of protection around them that will ensure all these things, and especially guidance, which is so essential in the formative years that lead into adulthood. This story, even though it is about my life is really about my love for you. Understand this, I lived through this challenge so that you would not have to.
God used me as a living testimony, for a world that is filled with unbelief and darkness. All of you who are without hope and are in that dark place with seemingly no way out, there is one who can and will move that mountain and allow the sun to shine on you.
After all I went through I am living proof of God’s power, mercy and grace. There is no doubt in my mind, that after reading my story, you will be convinced to of who is God is and what he can do for you. After many failures, suffering from low self esteem, tribulations of all kinds, god took one such caterpillar as me and turned her into a butterfly that is filled with Godly principals and His character. I thank god that I was allowed to take this work for you.
Preface
11120.pngThis book is written with you in mind. It shows how we often start out living our lives in a defeated place or state, a place that just IS. A non beneficial state that has no nutritional value to the spirit or soul and no idea how we got there. For all intensive purposes, we are utterly and completely lost. Because of the plan that God has for our lives, and that he knows our end from the beginning, our assurance of weathering this or any storm is confirmed. We are over comers by the word of His testimony, for He is not man and cannot lie. We are equally important in the body of Christ and all have our parts to play on a stage that is larger than you and I realize. My life and story is to help you in your walk and you are to help yet another. Remember, your destination is assured if you are in Christ, just make sure you pay attention to all that He shows you along the way.
Chapter 1
MY BEGINNING
I was born on April 9, 1956, in Washington, D.C., at what was then the city hospital (Gallagher Hospital). My entrance into this world was pre-mature, and later; I would realize that being born this way, and at only a three-pound weight was the first of a long line of miracles that would take place in my life.
My parents were Henry and Doris Jennings, and I was the third of five children, sort of in the middle you could say. Fast forwarding, this was a very strategic and advantageous position. I always got away with things; because of my birth conditions, and because I was the youngest girl. My daddy physically carried me everywhere he went, needless to say; I enjoyed the attention, and I was the apple of his eye.
I hope you understand that I am looking back over my life in retrospect, and because of God shielding my young eyes from things I could not handle, because later the picture began to change. Disappointment is a heart-wrenching thing no matter what age you are, but in the mind of a child it can have far-reaching implications. If ever that pedestal you had placed your parents upon is even scratched, you never get over that disappointment. The glow that seemed to surround them, is not so bright anymore.
My parents had marital problems since before I was born, and being perfectly honest, the problems began when they first
