About this ebook
only you and I can hear.
It Is passion that sizzles, it is touchable molten lava, it is raw emotions that we hide everyday. It is what Etta James sings about; it is what Barry White is talking about; it is what James Brown is begging for; it is what Betty Wright is crying about; it is what Jimmy Reed and Al Green are asking about,O those Flamingos croone when they say I Only Have Eyes For You. Follow your heart; it has all the answers. If you can identify with what I am saying, then you have been in love or CAUGHT UP IN MIDNIGHT DESSERT.

My ever lasting loves
Foreword
When Thomasena Martin-Johnson ask me to write this forward, for her new poetry book, I really didn’t know what I was going to say. But, as I was reading her biography, I found that we have teaching in common. And in her words, tried to instill a strong desire in her students to strive for the best and not be deterred by obstacles placed before them, my philosophy exactly.
While my path to help is through poetry, Thomasena Martin Johnson’s path is an educational road, leading her on a much larger journey enlightening and illuminating our minds with her insight.
I like to say she is much more than a poet, which she also is. She’s an educator, a crusader, a novelist, a World Traveler, a mother, a grandmother, and of course, a poet. One of my favorite poems which, I think, describes her perfectly is
Settle For Nothing
.
My soul bleeds
For those who didn’t care.
A closed door
Not a safety reed.
I cry no more
Just muddle through
I wrap my arms around myself
And gently soothe the sore.
There must be something waiting for me
An HE will
