About this ebook

The Power of Faith

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all that your faith is spoken of
throughout the whole world.
For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his son, that without
ceasing I make mention of You always in my prayers.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it is the power of God unto salvation
to everyone that believeth, to the Jew fi rst and also the Greek.
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: As it is written, the
just shall live by Faith.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. God is faithful by
whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; but in the power of God.
But as it is written, eye hath nor seen, nor heard, neither have entered into the heart of
man, the thing which God hath prepare for them that love Him.
Therefore we are always confi dent.
Because we walk by faith not by sight.
We are confi dent, I say and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present
with the Lord.
Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature old things are passed away, behold,
all things are become new.
Therefore as ye abound in everything, in faith and utterance, and knowledge and in all
diligence, and in your love to us see that ye abound in this grave also.
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who hath enabled me for that he counted me faithful,
putting me into that ministry.
And the grace of the Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
This is a faithful saying, and worth of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the
world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Holding faith and a good conscience which some having put away concerning faith has
made shipwrecks.

The Power of Faith
Author

Vernon Davis

My inspiration comes from personal experiences; ten years ago I was first diagnosed with Cancer, after the diagnosis came several surgeries. Having to work through this struggle, some with the help of doctors I relied on spiritual strength and my love for my family. My faith and trust in GOD’s word is what got me through this experience. I lost my father to cancer and later on a brother but my strength represents victory over suffering. My faith has helped me to celebrate possibility in the face of doubt and fears.

    DEDICATION

    The Power of Faith

    Christ suffered for us,

leaving us an example that ye should follow his steps.

Ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

    Behold how he loved.

I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, even the Spirit of truth.

Shall I not seek rest for thee that it may be well with thee?

The ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them

to search out a resting place for them.

    Master, where dwellest thou?

He saith unto them, Come and see.

Enter not into judgment with thy servant:

for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.

I know that my Redeemer liveth.

The Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits.

If children, then heirs; heirs of God,

    and joint-heirs with Christ.

Things which are despised, hath God chosen.

    Leaning on Jesus’ bosom.

Jesus Christ the righteous: the propitiation for our sins.

Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into

the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee?

    He satisfieth the longing soul,

and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

Let us consider one another to provoke

unto love and to good works.

I am my Beloved’s, and His desire is toward me.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

I trust I shall shortly see thee,

and we shall speak face to face.

Thy will be done in earth, as it is heaven.

Ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests,

    and a holy nation.

We made our prayer unto our God,

and set a watch against them.

They are not the world, even as I am of the world.

He that is of merry heart hath a continual feast.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life.

By faith, Abraham . . . called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed.

Thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle.

    Walk in love.

Let your request be made known to God.

Seek those things which are above,

where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Nicodemus . . . he that came to Jesus by night.

The fruit of the Spirit . . . faith.

The Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

It is finished: and he bowed his head,

    and gave up the ghost.

    He sent from above, he took me;

he drew me out of many waters.

    Walk in newness of life.

    Thy will be done.

The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,

whom the Father will send in my name.

The path of the just is as the shining light,

that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Whosoever shall call upon the name

of the Lord shall be saved.

God hath chosen the weak things of the world

to confound the things which are mighty.

He bath prepared for them a city.

Base things of the world hath God chosen.

The God of peace make you perfect

in every good work to do his will.

He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

    God is not a man, that he should lie;

neither the son of man, that he should repent.

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself

and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage,

and be shall strengthen thine heart.

    Christ the firstfruits.

    The God of all grace.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hill, from whence

cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord.

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,

and the man that getteth understanding.

It is good for me to draw near to God.

Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

Call upon me in the day of trouble:

I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

What is the thing that the Lord hath said unto thee?

Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

    God is my defence.

Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

    In thy name shall they rejoice all the day;

and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.

One of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side,

and forthwith came there out blood and water.

    Amen.

    He is altogether lovely.

    The mighty God.

Let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet,

    the hope of salvation.

Faithful in every good work, and increasing

    in the knowledge of God.

I sought him, but I found him not.

    Thou art my help and my deliverer;

make no tarrying, O my God.

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto

the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

    We are his workmanship.

As the body without the spirit is dead,

so faith without works is dead also.

We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house.

    Do ye believe?

    Your work of faith.

Fear not; I am the first and the last.

I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.

    I am black, but comely.

Teach me thy way, O Lord.

    Behold the Lamb of God.

    I will hope continually,

and will yet praise thee more and more.

Consider how great thing He hath done for you.

    Whoso keepeth his word,

in him verily is the love of God perfected.

He that is slow to wrath s of great understanding.

    Jehovah-shammah (The Lord is there.)

If ye do return unto the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the strange goa and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the Lord, and serve him only.

When the Son of man cometh,

shall he find faith on the earth?

When ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants.

In every tiling b prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

    All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord;

and thy saints shall bless thee.

Thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark,

and there I will meet with thee.

Faith as a grain of mustard seed.

Abide in me, and I in you.

Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

It pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for,

the evidence of things not seen.

Let us labour to enter into that rest.

    Thou hearest me always.

I am the Almighty God; walk before me,

    and be thou perfect.

Let us put on the armour of light.

He hath chosen us in Him before

    the foundation of the world.

If the Lord would make windows

in heaven might this thing be?

    The measure of faith.

Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter.

If ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; . . . those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

If a man sin against the Lord, who shall intreat for him?

Whom having not seen, ye love.

    The Lord Our Righteousness

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

The prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Set your affection on things above,

    not on things
