      Preface

      I was called by God on February 1, 2015, to speak his word. That day is one that is stamped into my memory. I was sitting in the choir stand when the voice of the Lord came to me and spoke. He said, I want you to speak my word. I asked, Me, Lord? Of course, the Lord knows what he’s doing; in essence, I was saying, I am not sure I can handle the position.

      After I heard his call, he guided me through each step to make the transition into the ministerial/pastoral ministry. Shortly after, the Lord gave me what he wanted to speak about in my first message—salvation. The Lord commissioned me to speak this message, and on December 16, 2015, Check Yourself: Salvation Is a Process was delivered.

      Out of that message came the book Salvation Is a Process. On the day the message was given, I was still in preparation prior to the service. There were some things in the message that the Lord told me to take out. I couldn’t understand at that moment, but there was no time to question God, so I began to take things out of the message as he instructed. After he gave the message—I had maybe a day or two to digest it—he spoke to me again. The Lord told me to expound on the message and write a book.

      I’ve been trying to write a book for almost twenty years, but it never came to pass because it wasn’t what God wanted me to write. Then the Lord explained to me why he had me take a portion of the message out. The Lord revealed to me that if I had delivered the entire message, I would have felt as though I said all that needed to be said, but more than those who heard it that night need to hear this message.

      Churches are filled Sunday after Sunday with individuals who say they are saved. Are they really? I ask that question because for many years, I thought I was saved and I wasn’t. I sat on the pew praising the Lord not knowing that I was on my way to hell. What a pity.

      I had been in church for as long as I could remember, but it wasn’t until about a few years ago that I became saved. So, where did things go wrong? How did this happen?

      Salvation is available to everyone. However, it is up to the individual to receive it. Salvation is a process, and it takes four steps to transition. These steps will be discussed in depth in efforts to help lost souls come to Christ and be converted.
