    About the Author

    Preface

    My Friend,

I hope this book finds you well. I pray that you’re encouraged by these writings and that this book helps you along your journey. I want to encourage you that you don’t have to view your singleness as a never-ending punishment or a phase of life you need to rush through. No matter how long your season has been, this is the stage of life you should make the most with and find ways to make it rich. Take your singleness by the reins and shape it into an ongoing chapter of enlightenment and joy! Remember, your singleness does not make you unworthy or pitiful. Your singleness is valuable. You are valuable, more than a conqueror, and wonderfully made beyond measure. God loved and valued you so much that He sent his Son to die for you and sent the Spirit to fill you with power. You were enough for Him, and you will always be enough to Him. You. Are. ENOUGH.

    Sincerely,

    Elizabeth

    Acknowledgement

I have to acknowledge God first; if it weren’t for His guidance and the path He directed me on, none of this would have occurred. I want to thank my mother, father, and grandmother for rearing me in the Word, redirecting me when necessary, and being the living example of what it means to be a follower of Christ. I want to give a specific shout-out to my mother, who gave me the push I needed to jump into this project and trust God to lead me. I want to thank Dee, Sam, and the Adventure Squad for keeping me grounded and reminding me that life is something to be enjoyed. I want to thank my Aunt Shonte and Reverend Napier, who encouraged me that my singleness is not in vain and to use this time to be the best servant I can be. I want to thank Reverend Carla Satterthwaite for helping me accept my calling and providing me with the opportunity to do what God called me to do. I want to thank my spiritual siblings, Mahdi and Candace, for encouraging me not to be afraid of what the Lord has for me and reminding me of who I am in Christ. I want to thank the Spiritual Mavericks and Chloe and Taneesha for keeping me in prayer, being shoulders to cry on, encouraging me to dig deeper into studying the Word, and being a robust spiritual support system. I want to thank The Content Chicks for all the work they’ve done to help me establish this. I want to give a special shout-out to my colleagues, who reminded me of the importance of self-care and generally being awesome people. Finally, I want to thank the rest of my family, friends, church family, and loved ones for putting up with my shenanigans and standing by me.

Thank you, and I love you all!

One of the most important things you should know is that everything has a function. Merriam-Webster’s dictionary defines function, the noun, as a purpose natural to or intended for a person or thing, and the verb, to work or operate in a proper or particular way. So, how does that relate to singleness? Simply put, your singleness
