The new year

Slowly dawns

Falls on the day

Chilling the ground

The bare trees

And fallen leaves

Shine in the daylight

Having fallen hard

You drop me

A harder step

Starts

With me alone

Rainy day

The new year

Starts with a shower

Without this face

I cannot recognise

Myself

At what point

Will i find

A line in the sand

Body hurts

But you

Have hurt me more

Thinking of you

My mind full

Of your beauty

A new year

But old feelings

Confuse my horizons

In the foothills of my mind

The bedrock is unstable

And prone to landslides

Moon out

The sky's beauty

Is shown in full

Along the road

The red lights

Guide me to work

Within the flood waters

A whirlpool

Drags at my time

Life escaping death

It is weak light

That slowly fades

How i ponder

On your subtle silence

Sitting quietly

Doing nothing

Getting neither better nor worse

My heart is empty

And the spring

Is frozen

Time passes

Without me

The moon shines

My nights are short

I sleep

Between dreams

I slowly climb

Our final parting

Heart's feet

How rhythmically

You skip

Chest heavy

How the cough

Weighs me down

Birds stream

Like swirling clouds

A new voice

Thoughtful

And controlled

Soft rain

The water table

Being laid for summer

And i feel

Only the bed's warmth

Night sky

Your cold tears

Dampen my spirits

I will remember today

And smile softly

Resigned to being alone

I start a new life

Like any project

Washing away

The week's grime
