    Today’s choices determine our future

    If there is one lesson you should learn from the Covid-19 pandemic, you should never take anything for granted again.

    You will never be able to predict the future, but at least you should be more prepared.

    Every day you make hundreds of decisions that might determine your near and future existence.

    Not only that, sometimes you are not making decisions for just yourself, but the people around you. You might be a parent, partner, founder, or leader. It is your responsibility to make the right decisions in such difficult situations. And it is your responsibility to learn how to make great decisions.

    Any decision-making process falls between two extreme cases depending on our level of knowledge about our actions’ outcomes. One side of this scale is deterministic. You have full knowledge; the opposite is deep uncertainty, where you are in complete ignorance. Between these two extremes lies the risk, where you have some knowledge but not all of it.

    A risky situation is when you understand the system, know the consequences, and can quantify the probability.

    Uncertainty is when you know the system and the consequences, but you do not know the probability.

    Your daily life decisions mostly fluctuate between deterministic and risky situations and sometimes complete uncertainty.
